The MONACO BETTER WORLD FORUM (MBWF) presented annually under the High Patro- nage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco is a star-studded two-day event that recognizes "Cinematic Art at the Service of Humanity". Sharon Stone, Forest Whitaker, Akon (Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam) and UNESCO are among the supporters of the non-profit organization, at which Mary J. Blige and Yann Arthus- Bertrand were honored at last year’s event.
Since its inception in 2016 under founder and president Manuel Collas de La Roche, the MBWF’s mission has been to recognize and focus on humanitarian projects and environ- mental protection, with emphasis on the following vital issues affecting the world today :
- Education - Child Protection - Women's Rights - Environment - Disability -
The MBWF features an Official Selection of films that highlights each of the above subjects, with international celebrities that award the MBWF’s coveted ‘Colombe d’Or’ statuette to the film which best exemplifies each category. The awards are presented at a Gala Dinner on the closing night of the event with H.S.H. Prince Albert II in attendance.
The 3rd edition is scheduled for Monaco on 21 & 22 September 2018. Preparations are un- derway for satellite MBWF events in several international locations in 2019 and beyond. Funds raised by the MBWF are donated to the causes that it supports.
These projects are administered by the International Peace Soldiers Association (comprised of the heroic ‘Blue Helmets’) in collaboration with the United Nations.
The MBWF spreads a message of universal peace and inspires citizens of all countries to come together beyond political or religious differences around issues that concern us all.
We must come out of silence, not to revolt but to restore a fair balance, to guide and inspire future generations to step forward and commit ... so that peace wins the minds and the hearts, and will ultimately win the world. The MBWF’s ‘Colombe d’Or’ statuette – a unique symbol of world peace – is the first-ever to be manufacturedfrom the newly invented metal ‘Humanium’ created from confiscated and surrendered artillery and weapons of destruction.
